Whether or not it’s sufficiently cold enough outside to truly count as the start of “Ugg season,” Telfar Clemens is here to get us in the spirit thanks to his latest collaboration with the perennial cold-weather purveyor, Ugg. This is a big deal: the first Telfar x Ugg drop debuted back in June and still sold out.
This latest gender-neutral collection brings back some of the first-round favorites—bedazzled mashup-logo tees, sweatpants-meets-shearling boots—with some new seasonal additions that play up Ugg’s signature Chestnut hue: plush bucket hats, hoodies, and an Ugg Mini variation on Telfar’s logo boot. There will also, of course, be sherpa-lined Shopping Bags, a mashup of each respective brand’s most recognizable product: the Telfar Shopping Bag and the Ugg shearling boot. Recognizability has long been a mode of play and creativity for Clemens; as he told GQ earlier this summer, “We have always been obsessed with ubiquity, seeing something everywhere on anyone is what makes it real for us.” What better than to refract that through the catalogue of one of the most omnipresent brands of the early-to-mid 2000s?
This is also the first Telfar x Ugg drop you can shop on television via the brand’s newly launched Telfar TV channel, which you can tune into on their website, Apple TV, Roku, or Google Play. As the designer announced during New York Fashion Week, the idea is for the channel to be as user-generated as possible, encouraging fans and customers alike to submit their own video content to play on air. Tonight, Clemens and company will present an “UGGstravaganza” special featuring giveaways and exclusive styles. Chances are it’ll be characteristically delightful.
